At the risk of offending Albert Lee, I reference the time it has taken for me to add to this little journal.
TODAY was a good day. There are honey bees still alive in my bee yards. Of course, there are some dead ones too. Every year I learn more about the forces which conspire to rid my little patch of the world of bees. This year I think it is moisture in the hives from condensation, coupled with drastic declines and rises in temperature.
But, today was a good day because, my pal Mike accompanied me to the Le Sueur bee yard. There, two young fella's who I am "mentoring" met with us and looked at their hives. It is such a pleasure to work with young people interested in the keeping of bees. This year we are focusing on replacing our dead outs and not the making of honey. That is the goal. Make more hives. We have plenty of honey to carryover from 2023's activities.
So, we are off to a good start!!
